So glad we found this! It's tucked into a corner of a courtyard area. I had the Portobello Burger and it was excellent. My Partner had the carrot tostadas, also excellent. Only a block away from the pyramid area

I mean.... just look at my Cauliflower burger!!! Tonico 12 really was a great surprise. I was in an Ayurveda class and the teacher recommended it so my friend and I went and it lived up to the hype! I have a feeling I will be frequenting it often!

This is a small, clean and orderly cafe/restaurant with a calming vibe and attentive, friendly service. On the menu is a decent variety of vegetarian and vegan food that is surprisingly flavorful, filling, creative and well-presented. THE FOOD For a place that has no meat on its menu, it's not what I've usually found in Puebla and Oaxaca. The flavors are fused in a creative and well-planned combination that is agreeable to my palate. Bonus points for their meals' colorful and inviting presentation. They serve exceptionally good shitake mushroom burgers and a couple varieties of cauliflower burgers that I didn't expect to taste great, but was surprised at how much flavor they got into them with only vegetable ingredients, minimally-processed. Ditto for their ceviches. I was adequately full by the end of my meal. Try their house dessert; really good! I forget what they call it, but they've kept it on the menu since they opened the restaurant a few years back. THE SERVICE It's what most of us would want and expect from a standard human interaction where you're giving money in exchange for a product/service: genuine friendly smile, attentive attitude and responsive service. They "get it." THE ATMOSPHERE Nice touch of colorful flowers in vases adorning a long slender table that lines the front-facing glass wall. "Chill"/relaxed coffee shop/small restaurant vibe. I've gone in the evenings. The lighting is low and calming to complement the colorful and calming music that they play at a volume that's "audible enough" to hear and appreciate, but low enough to not force you to strain to hear your company during a conversation of casual effort and volume. I like their playlist well enough to ask for it...the kind of Latin American music you might find on NPR's "Tiny Desk Concert" or Sofar Sounds. CLEANLINESS This a small place where all is visible, and you'll see it's clean and orderly in the kitchen, in eating area and even the restroom. Suggestion for improvement: there were a couple of seat cushions that looked like they had small food/drink stains. I moved mine out of the way and sat directly on the wood bench. Although not dirty and seemingly clean, the purple synthetic fiber hand towel at the sink, is something I'd replace with a clean white cotton towel that's regularly washed and replaced. All in all, my small gripes above are about minor things that do nothing to sway me from continuing to eat there weekly. It's a clean and quaint little joint that serves good-tasting health food.

Vegan restaurant! We are vegetarian and it was good to take a break from eating too much cheese at other restaurants. Located inside the courtyard of the train station across from the tunnels/pyramid ascending path. It took some waiting as everything was freshly prepared from quality ingredients. The grated carrot salad on tostadas was phenomenal. So was the mango-maracuya-ginger drink. The cauliflower burger.... I mistaken thought would be a breaded patty of grated cauliflower... instead turned out to be a big piece of cooked well seasoned cauliflower that I just ate on its own and was too full to eat the burger buns. Prices appear expensive but portions are big and lot of effort and ingredients go into it making it worth it.

We dropped in for lunch at this cool little place along the end of a strip of tourist eateries near the hub of the pyramid area in Cholula today. Table outside in the shade, delish portabello mushroom burger with par cooked veges and best coffee we have tasted in Mexico. Menu is in Spanish, bathroom is clean and prices are fair- really pleased these friendly folks are operating such a cool vegetarian cafe!
